A moment to reflect: In the past few days, I’ve been having a titanic mania and I thought I would share some of my research. The time between 1912 and 1916, seems to be a terrible times for Passenger Ocean Liners. Even before the Start of WWI, two dramatic sinking took place, the first and the most famous was the ‘Titanic’ in 1912, another ship, ‘The Empress of Ireland’ in 1914, Titanic’s cousin, the ‘Lusitania’ in 1915, and then Titanic’s younger but bigger sister ship, the ‘Britannic’ in 1916. While the Titanic and the Lusitania are the most famous and the worst of these disasters, the other ships are not to be ignored. Something must have been something wrong with that family of Sea Vessels (and associate), because the Family, Titanic, Britannic, and Lusitania all suffered horrible ends, while an associate, The Empress of Ireland, met the same end. The lives lost, were not lost on war ships, trade ships, or hostile take over’s (though some might have a sort of that in their fall), but on some of the grandest, most luxurious, and expensive ships at the time, dwarfing others ships across the globe, in size and value and luxury. Between these four ships, 3,754 people lost their lives to the ocean’s cold waves.

Titanic (1912)

Empress of Ireland (1914)
Lusitania (1915)

Britannic (1916)
